Welcome
The national Construction Sector Council in partnership with a number of organizations maintains a series of project related databases to improve planning for all stakeholders in the Alberta construction marketplace.
First, the Construction Sector Council and the Construction Owners Association of Alberta maintains a database of Major Industrial Projects for Alberta. The database is a secure, confidential, source of project capital value and timelines (project start and completion dates) for projects valued in excess of $100 million. In addition, the CSC in partnership with the Alberta Rose Committee tracks trade requirements for industrial turnaround and shutdown projects.
The Major Industrial Projects database is at the heart of forecasting efforts focused on determining the demand for construction personnel required to build and maintain Alberta’s major industrial projects.
Second, the Construction Sector Council, the Alberta Construction Association, and public sector owners maintain a database of Infrastructure projects. The database is a secure, confidential, source of project capital value and timelines (planning phase, design phase, tender phase, and construction phase) looking forward three years, for building projects valued in excess of $2 million.
In addition to sharing the schedule of public sector projects for owners, design consultants, contractors and suppliers, the Infrastructure database assists in forecasting the demand for construction personnel required to build Alberta’s public infrastructure.
Coupled with supply side information provided by the Construction Sector Council, the data allows the Alberta Construction Labour Market Information committee to annually publish ten year construction workforce supply demand outlooks.
